I understand the "8th Army clasp" to be the "8" sewn on his campaign ribbons (above), it is mentioned in his paybook.
note the "Military Medal" on the left, is not mentioned in the London Gazette, though mentioned in his paybook and I thought appropriately marked. Most Military Medals have a regiment recorded on them, this has none. My father was with the A. F. Signals, though the testimonial on his discharge papers may indicate other possible service. Have you ever seen one without a regiment, and if so, do you know to whom it belonged?
